About Me

VERY happily married 16 years with 3 wonderful children that keep me quite busy! I was always a shutterbug--my hobby has led me from being a Registered Nurse to a free-lance portrait photographer! I believe you can get paid to do something you love--life is too short to be unhappy! I am a stay-at-home mom--which I consider a FULL-time job, but it also allows me the freedom to pursue my photography--I am learning more all the time and feel there is always something new to discover! I think Digital Image Cafe is the best photo contest site on the net--the people are wonderful and I find it very fun and friendly!

Current and Past Equipment Used

I began my photography journey with an old beat up Kodak 110 at age 10. That camera sparked my initial interest in photography--can anyone say "Flash-cubes"? ---Owned many 35mm's during my teens and young adult years (Canon, Olympus)--joined the digital wave in the fall of 1999 with my first Sony Mavica FD-83-(I used to hang out on Sony ImageStation with Rob Mann and many others)-then I upgraded to a Sony Cybershot (DSC F707) summer of 2002 and For Christmas 2005 I got a new Canon 20D with a 17-55mm lens. I currently shoot with a Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L.

Location

I am a FL native and enjoy all that FL has to offer--we don't have mountains, beautiful waterfalls or snow, but we do have the beach and plenty of native birds and plants to photograph. Not to mention I have MANY theme parks in my backyard to shoot. It is a nice place to live--doubt I'll ever live anywhere else.

Other Interests

Obviously photography--I love PhotoShop CS3. I read lots of books by Scott Kelby and some other PhotoShop guru's that give me tons of ideas--but I still need PRACTICE! I enjoy seeing everyone else's work as it helps me to learn and grow. I am also an avid reader and love to swim!
